The project to rebuild the pool is 69% funded — help the community reach 80% by Dec 31, 2025

Reaching 80% keeps us on track to go to bid in 2026 and open in 2027.

80% MATTERS!

Reaching 80% of total funding is the final green light before construction can begin.

The design work, permits, and cost estimates are ready to go. Securing the last segment of funding is what will allow the District to:

💧 Confidently go to bid & secure vendors.

With designs finalized and reliable cost estimates in hand, hitting 80% ensures the District can issue construction documents and go to bid to get the digging started.

💧 Swim Lessons Save Lives

Formal swim lessons reduce drowning risk by up to 88% for children ages 1–4 (CDC, Pediatrics). Yet tens of thousands of kids still grow up without access to safe, affordable instruction. A community pool changes that — teaching lifelong water safety and confidence right here at home.

🕓 Stay ahead of cost escalation.

Every season construction doesn’t start risks inflation and higher material costs. Reaching 80% this year will ensure costs are as low as possible and keeps the target 2027 opening on track.

💪 Show strength to partners and funders.

State agencies, grantmakers, and private donors all look for visible local commitment before releasing their final awards. 80% demonstrates that the entire community is fully behind this project.

What does it mean to have a community without a pool?

🌊 A Pool for Every Age

Swimming is one of the few activities that benefits everyone — kids, adults, and seniors alike. It builds strength and coordination in youth, relieves stress and joint pain for adults, and improves balance and mobility for older adults. It’s low-impact, accessible, and life-long exercise that keeps the whole community moving.

🏊 A Safe Space for Teens and Community

Public pools do more than cool us off — they keep teens engaged in healthy, supervised spaces and give everyone a place to connect. From swim team to lifeguard jobs and family open swims, a community pool becomes a hub for friendship, safety, and belonging.

🚧 Protect years of investment and effort.

The completed engineering, permitting, and design work have positioned the community to build the pool — now the community needs to seize that momentum and make it real.

🌄 Local Access Matters

A community pool is more than recreation — it’s essential infrastructure for safety, health, and connection. Local access means every child can learn to swim close to home, every family has a place to cool off in summer, and every resident can stay active year-round. It strengthens our region’s resilience — from heat waves to public health — by ensuring everyone, not just those with private options or time to travel, can safely enjoy the water together.

We have negotiated a lease for a choice site with the White Salmon Valley School District and developed a solid schematic design that encompasses the years of public input, is respectful of the site & the needs of the community.

Build

Our White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park District has been active for since 2019, but in that time the Park District has been able to establish the new park district while making substantial progress toward creating a new pool facility.

The Park District board and their dedicated team of volunteers are focusing on facilitating the ultimate pool design and working on the development plan that will help us get the new pool built!
